Privacy policy

At Barnils & Díaz Advocats we handle your data with the utmost confidentiality and in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD).

Data controller

Barnils & Díaz Advocats · C/ Argentona 88-90, 08302 Mataró · info@bdadvocats.com.

Why we process your data

To respond to the enquiries you send us through the form, by phone, WhatsApp or email, and to manage the professional relationship if you become a client.

Legal basis

The consent you give us when contacting us and, where applicable, the performance of a legal services contract and compliance with legal obligations.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry and, if you become a client, for the legal retention periods applicable to professional activity.

Recipients and third-party services

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for commercial purposes. That said, a few third parties are involved in getting your enquiry to us, and you should know this before you write to us:

  • WhatsApp (Meta Platforms). The contact form on this website does not send an automatic email. It opens WhatsApp with your enquiry already drafted so that you can review it and send it yourself. The same applies to the WhatsApp buttons on the site. If you use this route, your phone number and the content of the conversation are handled inside WhatsApp, under its own privacy policy.
  • Hosting provider. The company that hosts this website on its servers, acting as a data processor. It may record technical connection data (such as your IP address) in its server logs.
  • Google Maps. The map on the contact page is a static image hosted on our own server, so loading the page sends no data to Google from your browser. Only if you click the map (or the button to open it) do you leave for Google Maps, where Google's privacy policy applies. The cartography comes from OpenStreetMap.
  • Courts, public authorities and other professionals. Where necessary to provide the legal service or to comply with a legal obligation.

If you would rather not use WhatsApp, write to us directly at info@bdadvocats.com or call us on 93 411 03 84. Both are equally valid channels and we answer them just as quickly.

International transfers

If you contact us through WhatsApp, that conversation is handled on Meta's infrastructure, which may be located outside the European Economic Area, under the safeguards the provider itself states that it applies. The same applies to Google, but only if you click the map on the contact page: until you do, your browser never contacts Google from this site. We make no other international transfers of your data.

Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to info@bdadvocats.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
